‘Student-Farmer Interaction Program’ is a Mobile Approach for On-site Mentorship led by YPARD Nepal in collaboration and coordination with farmers’ groups and local partners. The program aims to provide farmers with technical and/ or advisory information on production and management techniques, and at the same time to facilitate two-way learning between agri-students and farmers.
YPARD Nepal in collaboration with District Agriculture Co-operatives Union, Makwanpur calls for application for ‘Student-Farmer Interaction Program’ to be conducted at Bajrabarahi, Thaha Municipality, Makwanpur district of Nepal. Completely novel of its type, the program will last for five days during which a series of learning-exchange activities will be carried out at farmer’s field to share ideas on crop production, management, and marketing based on two-way learning.
Interested Nepalese young individuals who are not older than 39 years can send the application to firstname.lastname@example.org “Ref: On-site Mentoring” on the title. The application materials include a curriculum vitae (max. 2 pages) and a cover letter. By submitting a complete application means you are fully agreed to be with us for five days. All the necessary travel and accommodation will be arranged by YPARD Nepal.
Selected volunteers will stay in the village for the duration of five days and go through a couple of visits to the farmers' field, interact with farmers, explore their pros and cons, build up their stories, and identify the possible ways of interventions. However, they will not only be restricted to a tight schedule of activities but also allowed with enough time to take full advantage of the opportunity to have a close view of overall aspects of the agriculture scenario in the village.
