tvebiomovies 2016 - Film category about smallholder farming in developing countries

Each year, tvebiomovies works with funders to inspire young people around environmental and development issues.

This year they are partnering with the UNFCCC, IFAD, GEF, and Connect4Climate among others and one of the film categories is about Farming, particularly small family farms in the developing world. Film makers need to submit a proposal for a film explaining needs to protect biodiversity, the effects of  climate change , what issues arise around water scarcity, and the role of women. There are five categories in the short film competition – each looking at different aspects of planetary boundaries. The winner in each category – the film which receives the most views on tve‘s Inspiring Change YouTube channel – will receive US$1500.

How to Enter

Choose one of our categories and think how you might make a one-minute film. Send them a written proposal about your film idea using the online form before 19 Aug. Proposals not submitted in English, French, German, Russian or Spanish may not be accepted.

A judging panel will select the best three proposals in each category and we provide funding of US$300 to help you make your film. Funding will only be awarded on delivery of the film.

The deadline for the delivery of the final films is 17 October.
