YPARD CHAPTERS AROUND THE WORLD
Last year, during the preparation of 2017 annual programs, YPARD Nepal identified the need for youth’s capacity building activities to focus on recent graduates. To address this issue, the team organized a YPARD Student Research Symposium to provide an opportunity for Nepalese undergraduate and graduate students to present their existing and emerging research work among university students and faculty members.
On the 10th and 11th December 2017, YPARD-Egypt participated in a workshop co-organized by the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East & North Africa ( AARINENA ) and the Global Forum for Agricultural Research (GFAR) in Hammamet, Tunisia, under the theme “Transforming AARINENA’s Capacity as a Multi-Stakeholder Futuristic Regional Forum for Research and Innovation for Development Tunisia”.

This document summarizes the online discussion Sustaining the impact of capacity development initiatives for African youth in agriculture, which was held on the FAO Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition in Africa (FSN Forum Africa) from 25 October to 17 November 2017. YP OF THE MONTH
A team from YPARD Iran recently introduced a new irrigation system dubbed Climate-Smart Irrigation (CSI) system for perennial plants and trees. This invention relates to agriculture, natural resources and environment, in which the capabilities of the invented device are used to increase the irrigation efficiency.
